FAMILY & FRIENDS TRAINING: Onboarding Form

 

Supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children in a Hearing Family - Live Training with an Experienced Teacher of the Deaf (and mother of a deaf child)

Thank you for your interest in this live workshop for family & friends!

To ensure this session is as impactful and aligned as possible, I ask all parents to fill out the form below to kick things off. 

From here I will schedule a 1 hour clarity consult with parents before the main training for us to chat. This session gives us the chance to:

* Unpack your family dynamic in more detail
* Understand the major 'pain points' currently happening
* Dive deeper into your child’s individual needs and profile
* Ensure the training tone and content are perfectly aligned with your goals

  

 

I typically work on Thursdays and Fridays for this session to take place. Once we’ve had this initial meeting, we can coordinate the training session based on your family and friends’ schedules to ensure maximum participation.

What the Training Covers

During the session, we’ll touch on key topics such as:

* Communication strategies
* Language tips and tricks
* Acoustic considerations
* Common myths and misconceptions
* Education on devices and their limitations etc
* Dinner table syndrome
* "The 'deaf child in a hearing family' scenario
* Auditory fatigue and other DHH related behaviours 
* and much more!
 

Additionally, during our preparation session, we can discuss any specific areas or add-ons you’d like included to make the training even more relevant and valuable.
